Ireland is beautiful lush landscapes, compelling history and kind and welcoming people. It seems like it is always raining, just a bit, almost every day. But it makes for a magic land of deep green grasses and flowers that appear on pretty much anything, even the stone walls of ruins.

Even though The Rock of Cashel is a medieval structure, I think this statue is more contemporary.

 

Sheep at Slieve League, Donegal

Slieve League, located in County Donegal in Ireland, is considered to be one of the highest cliffs in all of Europe. When traveling around rural Ireland, you encounter sheep everywhere. The owners paint on colored patches indicating ownership.

This beautiful stone, spiral staircase in St. Patrick’s Cathedral, gives access to the organ loft.
