St. Johns Chapel, Tower of London

A Romanesque chapel built in 1080 as part of William the Conqueror’s White Tower in London. It was the royal chapel.

Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul, Constanta, Romania

This stunning Romanian Orthodox church is located on the Black Sea in the city of Constanta, Romania. The hand-painted icon artwork on the ceiling, dome and walls will take your breath away! It is still a working church.

Castle Frankenstein

Castle Frankenstein or Burg Frankenstein is located near Darmstadt in Germany. It was home to an eccentric alchemist who was possibly the inspiration for Mary Shelly’s book, “Frankenstein”. This shot was make in a roofless ruin with gnarly trees overhead.

Bran Castle in Transylvania

Bran Castle was built around the 12th century and was a fortress built to defend against invasion. Vlad the Impaler was said to have passed through the area a few times, but there is no evidence of him living there. Bram Stoker, the author of  “Dracula” may have been somewhat inspired upon seeing a photo of this castle. It is open for visits and is really a fascinating castle to tour.

Shakespeare and Company Bookstores, Paris

Shakespeare and Company is an English language bookstore on the Left Bank, right across from Notre Dame on the banks of the Seine. The original Shakespeare and Company has a storied history. Back in the day it was a comfortable place for authors and artists who found themselves far from home.

Sainte-Chapelle, Paris

This truly breath-taking church was built to house Holy relics acquired by Saint Louis. It has 1,113 stained glass windows and sits on the Il de la Cite, an island in the River Seine in Paris, France.
